Here at Jax Pool Maintenance, our team of caring professionals know all of the different maintenance it takes to keep one fresh. We specialize in many different maintenance services including:
Treatment of Stains and Discolorations
There are various types of elements that may leave stained or discolored areas on the structure but the two main categories of stains are organic stains and mineral stains. Organic stains are those that result from organisms such as animals, algae, or worms. Mineral stains are different spots of various sizes on the walls or floors that come from an inorganic material. Here's an example of a mineral stain: the wall may eventually develop a water stain caused by the iron in the water, resulting in an orange discoloration.
Just like there are many types of stains and marks, there are also a boatload of different chemicals used to treat certain pool discolorations. For example, muriatic acid may be a necessary choice of chemical depending on the type of stain.
It is crucial to ensure proper maintenance is given to your filtration system. There are different type of filtration systems: Sand/Gravel Filters, Cartridge Filters, etc. Cartridge filters have to be manually removed, freshened, reinstalled, or replaced if it's not reusable. Through prolonged use a cartridge filter could reduce the effectiveness of your filtration system. This of course can vary as there are many factors influencing and determining the effectiveness of a cartridge filter. Sand/Gravel Filters are normally backwashed after prolonged use. Backwashing is only done on sand/gravel filters and is the process of using the water in your swimming pool to remove any debris or foreign objects from the filter. The dirt is then directed to a backwash hose that typically empties out in the grass or an area of your choosing.
See any stubborn spots, dirt, or build up of calcium on your floor or walls? Our high-tech, quality washing equipment is exactly what your pool needs! We have a variety of vacuums, specially designed hoses, skimmers, brushes of all kinds, and all different kinds of chemicals and other treatment accessories (such as filter cartridge cleaners, leaf traps, etc). The care products needed may vary, depending on the issue at hand and the severity of the discrepancy. If it's just some daily dirt for example, our state-of-the-art vacuum will have that dirt out of there before you can finish pouring your glass of freshly squeezed lemonade. Discoloration in the grouting, little cement between the tiles, may require a more in-depth treatment.
Shocking your pool is a term used to describe the process of adding chlorine or any kind of chemical, designed to combat algae. When doing this, it is imperative that you shut your circulating pump off in order to stop water circulation while you're shocking the water so you can get maximum effectiveness from the shocking chemical, usually a high concentration of chlorine.
